  • Dr. Anirban Basu

    Chairman & Chief Executive Officer- Sage Policy Group, Inc.

    Anirban Basu is Chairman & CEO of Sage Policy Group, Inc., a Baltimore-based economic and policy consultancy he founded in 2004.  He serves the Chief Economist function for many organizations, including the Maryland Bankers Association and Associated Builders and Contractors.  The Baltimore Business Journal named him one of the region’s 20 most powerful business leaders in 2010.  In 2022, he entered the Daily Record newspaper’s Circle of Influence.  He is the Distinguished Economist in Residence at Goucher College, where he teaches History of Economic Thought.  He holds four graduate degrees, including a J.D. and a Ph.D.

  • Cal Beyer, CWP

    Senior Director – SAFE Workplaces

    Cal Beyer, CWP is the Senior Director of SAFE Workplaces for national nonprofit SAFE Project (SAFE = Stop the Addiction Fatality Epidemic). Cal is a catalyst, advocate, and a force multiplier to educate, equip, and empower leaders and organizations to address root causes of addiction AND to amplify actions to promote successful solutions in workplaces.

    Beyer’s work with mental health, substance misuse, addiction treatment and recovery, suicide prevention, and overdose prevention developed out of his work on human capital risk management. This ultimately grew into the mental health and suicide prevention campaign CFMA helped launch in 2015 and the 2016 formation of the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention.

    Beyer has 35 years of construction and manufacturing risk/safety management experience. He worked in national roles for two leading construction insurance carriers. He also served as director of risk management for a hot mix asphalt producer and heavy/highway contractor. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and a regular contributor to various publications, including Building Profits Magazine.

  • Josh Donovan

    Chief Operations Officer- Lighthouse Institute

    Josh is a professional speaker and facilitator for corporate events, team building and workshops, specializing in topics on leadership, communication and showing up for the people around us – shining bright in service to others. After serving in the Marine Corps, he received a degree in Organizational Management and established a career in the fitness industry. Josh had opportunities to design, launch, manage, and operate gyms for nearly twenty years. He learned a lot about people and ultimately came to a place of wanting to help others seek wellness beyond just the physical system. Josh became an Integrative Wellness & Life Coach as well as a Certified Practitioner of the MBTI Instruments (ENTP) and has read over 50 books on leadership & personal development. Josh began facilitating and coaching for Lighthouse Institute, a leadership development company, in 2019, became Chief Executive Officer in 2024.

  • Russell Emig, CCP, RP

    CISO- Hoop5 Networks

    As Chief Information Security Office (CISO), Russ provides strategic guidance and security consulting to Hoop5 customers by working to align business objectives with technology solutions. Russ works to meet the unique needs of each client by developing IT Security strategies with a focus on DFARS, CMMC, ITAR, & NIST compliance.

    Russ has over 18 years of IT and industry experience including procurement developer with a focus in security for SDG&E, and as a government contractor. Russ’ technical training and background include: Microsoft, VMware, Duo, Webroot, InTune, Meraki, Barracuda, Perception Point, SentinelOne, and Arctic Wolf. Russ has earned his CMMC Registered Practitioner (RP) and Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) certifications.

  • Chris Gewain, CPA, CCIFP

    Partner- Moss Adams

    Chris has practiced public accounting since 2003. He manages audits for contractors, professional services, and employee benefit plan clients. Chris provides business consulting and accounting services to financial management personnel and business owners, including internal control and financial reporting system matters, billing practices and cash flow improvements, business owner succession planning, and tax planning and other compliance issues.

    He’s a past president and board member of the Orange County chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), and a current board member of the Association of General Contractors (AGC), as well as a member of the Surety and Underwriters Association of Southern California. Chris has presented at the National CFMA Conference, the AGC/CFMA (CFMC) Conference, and has co-authored articles surrounding construction accounting issues for CFMA’s Building Profits magazine. He is a past recipient of CFMA’s “Chairman’s Challenge” coin and currently serves on CFMA’s National Publications Committee. Chris is also the Moss Adams assurance leader in the Orange County, CA office.

    Treasurer/CFO- Schlouch Inc

    Richard F. King, CPA, CCIFP is the Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer at Schlouch Incorporated in Blandon, PA.  He manages all aspects of accounting, finance, IT, insurance, contracts, Human Resources and administration. 

    Rich earned a BS in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.  He has over thirty-five years’ experience in public accounting and industry.  He has spoken on accounting, equipment, project management, technology and HR topics at CFMA local, regional and national conferences as well as Con Expo, YPO, AEMP and AICPA construction conferences, ENR webcast, software users’ conferences and trade association meetings.

    Rich is a founding member and past President of CFMA’s Greater Berks-Lehigh Valley, PA Chapter.  He has served on CFMA’s Executive and Leadership Development Committees as well as Co-chair for the Conference Planning and Heavy/Highway Committees.  He also serves as Co-chair for the AEMP-CFMA KPI Joint Project, Treasurer of the Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Healthcare, Group Captive Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the Building Committee at his church.

    Rich received CFMA’s Danny B. Parrish Leadership Award in 2023; the Deborah Hahn Memorial Award in 2008; and was named CFO of the Year by Lehigh Valley Business in 2015.   In addition, in 2016, Schlouch Incorporated received AEMP’s Fleet Masters Award for excellence in equipment fleet management.  Rich also received CFMA’s Midatlantic Conference Trail Blazer Award and LVBCH’s Leadership in Wellness Recognition Award.

  • Carmela Little

    CFO- Brycon

    Over the past five and a half years as CFO Carmela has ensured the financial health and success of Brycon by providing strategic financial leadership, and optimizing financial performance while supporting Brycon’s long-term goals. Prior to being a CFO for the previous 13 years, she worked as a controller in both the private and municipal sector of the construction industry. She has helped companies streamline accounting operations, introduced internal controls, and driven powerful financial initiatives. She has implemented enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to help information flow between all business functions, providing efficiencies and business resources. Carmela also worked for over 3 years with the City of Albuquerque, where she worked closely under two administrations serving as the City’s Risk Manager and Risk Finance Manager. While at the City she worked on complex and multidisciplinary projects that contributed directly to the betterment of society. She collaborated with colleagues to shape policies and regulations that would provide an impact the citizens of Albuquerque. Carmela graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and was a voting member on the City of Albuquerque’s Investment Oversight Committee. She is an active member and serves on several boards and organizations throughout the community including the New Mexico Society of CPAs, the Association of Governmental Accountants, the Construction Financial Management Association, the Rio Ranch Education Foundation and the New Mexico Chamber of Commerce.e

  • Tim Lu, CPA, CCIFP

    Senior Manager- Moss Adams

    Tim has practiced public accounting since 2012, with a focus on serving clients in the construction industry. He has experience in all aspects of performing financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations, including financial statement preparation and the evaluation of internal controls. Tim also has been involved in performing agreed-upon procedures engagements and a variety of consulting projects at Moss Adams.

    Tim is a CFMA Orange County Board member, and the Orange County CFMA CCIFP Chapter Champion. He has most recently been a presenter for CFMA’s two-day Accounting and Reporting in Construction webinar. He prides himself on his unwavering commitment to building long-lasting relationships with his clients, ensuring they are supported and valued throughout their financial journeys.

  • Dave Miller, CCIFP, CTP, CRIS

    David Miller has been serving as CFO for MGC Contractors since 2021 and has over 30 years of experience as a financial professional & CFO in the Construction Industry. Dave holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and has achieved the following credentials; Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional, Certified Treasury Professional and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist. Dave also completed the Certified Construction Financial Management course through Columbia Engineering School and completed the Certificate in Corporate Valuation through Columbia Business School.

    Dave is a member of the Association for Financial Professionals and has been a member in the Construction Financial Management Association since 2005. Dave is a past President of the Valley of the Sun chapter of CFMA, has served as a member of the CFMA Southwest Regional Conference planning committee since the formation of the conference, and has served on numerous CFMA National Committees including the Finance Committee and the Executive Committee.

    MGC Contractors is a Heavy Civil General Contractor and a leader in the Water / Wastewater Industry. MGC has been in business since 1974, and is licensed to contract in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Utah. MGC’s revenues are $150M - $300M per year.

  • Theresa Tate

    Managing Partner- Crawford & Bangs, LLP

    Theresa Crawford Tate is the managing partner of the legal firm of Crawford & Bangs. Her areas of practice include construction law, contracts, corporate and business law. Crawford & Bangs is a boutique construction law firm that specializes in representing entities involved in the construction industry at all levels. The firm was founded in 1979 by Ms. Tate’s father, William Crawford. 

    Ms. Tate graduated with honors from both the California State University at Fullerton and Loyola Law School, Los Angeles (Order of the Coif). Ms. Tate is admitted to practice before all the state courts of California, the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern, and Eastern Districts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is a member of the State Bar of California and Los Angeles County Bar Association.

    Ms. Tate is very involved with several construction related trade associations. She is the Past Chair of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar (LACBA), and is a former co-chair of the Construction Subsection. Ms. Tate was a member of the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association (BIA) Los Angeles Ventura Chapter, and has served on the Programs Committee for the BIA Baldy View Chapter. She is a member of the California Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association (CPMCA) and has served as the President for the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) of Orange County.

    Further, Ms. Tate is a frequent author and speaker on construction related topics. Her articles are posted on the Crawford & Bangs website at www.BuildersLaw.com, as well as being published by many trade publications such as F. W. Dodge-McGraw-Hill’s Construction Link, American Subcontractor Association (ASA) California Newsletter, SMACNA The Industry Reporter, Builder and Developer Magazine and BICA CreditLine Quarterly. Ms. Tate has been invited to speak to the members of numerous construction trade associations (BIA, SMACNA, ASA, BICA, CPMCA, CFMA, PDCA and LACBA) on various topics.

    Ms. Tate is a past president for the City of Industry Lions Club, and a past president of the West Covina Chamber of Commerce. Throughout her career, she has served on the board of directors for several charitable organizations.

    Ms. Tate resides in Mission Viejo with her husband, Alan, a retired Deputy District Attorney for the County of Riverside, and has two adult sons.
